West Grove

West Grove is a borough in southern Chester County, just off the US-1 bypass between Avondale and Jennersville. Route 841 runs through town, and US-1 gives a direct route toward Kennett Square and Philadelphia to the east and Oxford and Maryland to the southwest. The downtown is a few blocks of older storefronts and homes.

West Grove has a long horticultural history; the Conard-Pyle Company, known for its Star Roses, grew and shipped roses from here for much of the 20th century. Today the land around the borough is a mix of farms, mushroom houses and residential development. Housing in West Grove includes older single-family homes and twins in the borough, some on deep lots, along with townhomes and newer subdivisions in surrounding Penn and London Grove townships, plus farmhouses and acreage farther out. Commuters often look at the drive time to the US-1 interchange and to Route 41 heading toward Delaware when comparing homes.
