Millsboro sits at the head of the Indian River in southern Sussex County, where a dam forms Millsboro Pond right next to the town center. US-113 runs north and south through town, and Route 24 and Route 30 head east toward Long Neck, Oak Orchard and Rehoboth Beach. The coastal beaches are roughly a half-hour drive, and Georgetown is just a few miles north.
The Indian River widens as it flows east toward Indian River Bay, and the shoreline areas outside town have water-access homes, marinas and boat ramps. The town itself has a small downtown along Main Street and a park by the pond. Millsboro has seen a lot of growth, and housing here now includes large new-construction communities with single-family homes and villas, older homes in town, waterfront properties along the river and its creeks, and manufactured-home communities. With so many builders active, buyers often compare base prices, lot premiums and HOA amenities across several communities before choosing.
